The other day, Hov and Timbo joined Swizz and Drake in the studio. No word on what was being worked on, but I’m just gonna guess Drake’s next album Nothing Was The Same.

Bring It Back: The Roots – You Got Me f. Eve & Erykah Badu/Jill Scott [1999]

In light of #ThrowbackThursday, I’ve decided to bring back one of my favorite songs from The Roots of all time. In 1999, The Roots crew released their Eve (of Destruction) and Erykah Badu featured single single “You Got Me”. While penning the song, Philly’s Jill Scott recorded her own version before being replaced by Erykah on The Roots’ Things Fall Apart. Six year’s after the original Jill Scott version was released on 2001′s Home Grown! The Beginner s Guide to Understanding the Roots Volume 1. Take a listen to both versions and just try to pick a clear winner on whose was better. Don’t worry, I’ll wait…

Jill Scott

Erykah Badu

And for an added bonus, check out this 2dope performance of the Grammy Award-winning song that The Roots and Jill Scott gave that can be found on The Roots Come Alive.

Young Jeezy – R.I.P f. 2 Chainz (BTS Pics)

A couple friends (T.I., Nelly, Big Sean, etc) and a couple offensive bishes assist out on the upcoming visual from Jeezy’s It’s Tha World mixtape. Check the rest of the flicks after the jump.

Your 2Dope Opinion: Do You Want a G-Unit Reunion?

So what does Game do when Banks is saying nada, Yayo misses the old days, 50 Cent thinks a reunion is “unlikely” and Buck is locked up? Starts a petition for an official G-Unit reunion on Facebook (w/ Swagg-Ink) of course.

The petition has just under 5k signatures at the time of this post so if you’d like to add to that click here. My question is this though, would y’all actually want to see these guys back together? I was unquestionably a fan of them back in the day but times have changed. Do you think the changes each artist has gone through would mess with their chemistry? Would it even be an ‘honest’ reunion or just a ploy for money? Let us know your thoughts on the whole thing in the comment section below.

How Many Albums Is LongLiveA$AP Predicted To Sell In Its First Week?

According to Hits Daily Double A$AP Rocky’s major label debut will land at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts, selling between 130,000 and 140,000 copies. If those numbers hold up, it’ll be another dope accomplishment for the rapper, who has already struck gold with “Fuckin’ Problems.”

Head down bottom for an interview with Rocky on why he’s rad on Givenchy clothing. Yeah, I know. Another interview about fashion.

Your 2Dope Opinion: Who Is Gonna Drop The Best Project in 2013?

Earlier on Twitter I asked who would be dropping the first dope project of the New Year. Responses came in quickly with the likes of ScHoolboy Q, Joe Budden, Ab-Soul & JMSN and others. Bringing the question to the DopeHouse though, I wanted to expand the horizon and see what y’all thought about the entire year. With releases from A$AP Rocky (Long.Live.A$AP), Joe Budden (No Love Lost), Ab-Soul & JMSN (Unit 6), ScHoolboy Q (Oxymoron), J. Cole (Born Sinner), Big Sean (Hall Of Fame), Pusha T (My Name Is My Name), Ghostface Killah (Twelve Reasons To Die), Fabolous (Loso’s Way 2: Rise to Power), Talib Kweli (Prisoner Of Conscious), 50 Cent (Street King Immortal), KiD CuDi (Indicud), Eminem (TBA) and countless others already planned; and hopeful albums from Jay-Z, Kanye West, Drake, Andre 3000 (hey… I can wish), Young Jeezy, etc; 2013 seems like it could be quite good.

The question I’d like to ask y’all is: who is gonna drop the best project? Take a journey to the c-section below and let us know!
