Avril Lavigne: ‘Rock N Roll’ Video Premiere!

Avril Lavigne: ‘Rock N Roll’ Video Premiere!

Check out the premiere of Avril Lavigne‘s latest video for “Rock N Roll“! The Max Martin-produced track serves as the second official single taken from her upcoming self-titled fifth studio album, which is scheduled for release on September 24 via Epic Records. Directed by Chris Marrs Piliero, the clip sees Avril bringing animated character Tank Girl to life in the comical video featuring cameos from Danica McKellar, Billy Zane, and Sid Wilson from the band Slipknot. While this unquestionably wasn’t what I had in mind for the visual, I absolutely love the ridiculousness of it all. It’s clear that Avril doesn’t take herself too seriously and its nice to see her let loose on something like this. What do you man think?

Avril Lavigne will release her new single “Rock N Roll” on Tuesday (August 27)!

Kelly Clarkson: ‘Tie It Up’ Single Premiere!

Check out the premiere of Kelly Clarkson‘s new single “Tie It Up“! The 31-year-old singer first debuted the track a week ago during the CMA Festival and now we have the official studio version, which will be available on iTunes on Tuesday (June 25). The track is a sweet and catchy country number about getting married, which totally is appropriate considering she is currently engaged to her boyfriend Brandon Blackstock. It may not be the big pop smash we are use to hearing from her but we’ve always known Kelly is a country girl at heart, a country album was bound to happen at some point. I’m actually looking forward to it! What do you guys think?

Miley Cyrus: ‘We Can’t Stop’ Video Premiere!

Miley Cyrus: ‘We Can’t Stop’ Video Premiere!

Check out the premiere of Miley Cyrus‘ latest video for “We Can’t Stop“! The track serves as the lead single off her upcoming fourth studio album, scheduled for release this Summer. Directed by Diane Martel, the clip shows off a whole new side of Miley. The 20-year-old entertainer sports a grill and twerks at a house party filled with random scenes featuring a piñata stuffed with pancakes and sausages and lots of oversized stuffed animals. It isn’t exactly what I thought the video was going to be but I’m kind of into it. Yeah, it’s a little on the strange side but it’s a Miley party, she can do what she wants to. What do you guys think?

Nelly: ‘Get Like Me’ feat. Nicki Minaj & Pharrell!

Nelly: ‘Get Like Me’ feat. Nicki Minaj & Pharrell!

It’s been years since I’ve decided to acknowledge the existence of Nelly. The 38-year-old rapper is no longer the “Country Grammar” hit-maker he use to be and all his failed attempts at a comeback have been quite embarrassing. Luckily, things seems like they’re going to be changing for the better for Nelly with the release his new single “Get Like Me” featuring Nicki Minaj and Pharrell. Produced by Pharrell himself, “Get Like Me” is catchy hip-pop number driven by a hot drum-patterned beat, reminiscent of a classic Neptunes production. I must donate credit where credit is due, the track is a total summer jam. All props must go to Pharrell though. He is responsible for current big hits “Blurred Lines” and “Get Lucky” – could this be lucky #3? What do you guys think?

Continuing on with my (sporadic) MSMS episodes spotlighting the music that was a part of my life as I grew up I figure I’d focus on an obvious choice: Stevie Wonder. I can’t really think of anybody in my world that wasn’t reared on the sounds of the child prodigy-turned-living legend, and I unquestionably recommend revisiting some of his (very, very) expansive catalog at some point in your lives.
