Neon Hitch: Live @ Splash Bar (5/20)

This past Friday, blog bestie/frenemy (MuuMuse) & I were invited to catch singer-songwriter Neon Hitch perform at Splash Bar in New York City. Joined by my new writer Anthony we were completely ready to watch the rising pop star-to-be hit the stage. At around 1 am, Hitch came strutting down the stage to perform a stellar 3-song set. You couldn’t keep your eyes off the pop gypsy as she performed “Silly Girl,” “Fuck You Better,” & “Bad Dog” from her debut album “Beg, Borrow & Steal.” Within minutes I was obsessed, she’s completely hypnotizing in every way possible. Neon is everything you want from a pop star & more, I can’t wait until she stats taking over. Check out her performance below, Enjoy! *SMIZE*

Drake: ‘Dreams Money Can Buy’

Drake for the most part has been keeping a low profile since the release of his debut album “Thank Me Later” last year. He is currently putting the finishing touches to his follow-up “Take Care” due out in September. Feeling generous, Drake has decided to share a new song with us titled “Dreams Money Can Buy” which I’m sure is just to create some buzz. It’s “a song that I felt the need to share,” Drake said. “Not my single. Just a piece of my story. Hear me out.” Drake is one of the few rappers I can actually stand so I would be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to his new album. Be sure to check it out, Enjoy!

Jessie & The Toy Boys: ‘Push It’ Live @ Rockit (5.13)

Last Friday, pop singer Jessie Malakouti & her Toy Boys took over the stage at District 36 for Rockit‘s One Year Anniversary. To show our support, fellow blogger bestie (MuuMuse) & I made our way to the club in New York City. Surrounded by a cast of thirsty characters, Jessie & the Toy Boys strolled out onto the stage around 2 A.M & performed a stellar 3-song set. Despite her stage limits, she still delivered a fierce performance. I have no doubts that Jessie will be absolutely killing it during the Femme Fatale Tour this summer. Check out her performance of “Push It” below, Enjoy!

Simon Curtis: ‘Superhero’ – Out Now!

Earlier this week, internet sensation Simon Curtis released his new single “Superhero” on iTunes. The track is the first to be lifted off his upcoming sophomore album “R∆” due out this summer. Reunited with his “8Bit Heart” producer, Jeff Wells, together they’ve crafted an infectious self-empowerment pop anthem with one hell of an addictive sing along chorus. “The song is a celebration of will power, an anthem for anyone who has ever fought to achieve his dreams,” Simon expressed. “It’s a rallying cry for all who are trying to shape his or her own destiny.”

When asked on what we can expect from the new album, Simon said “The majority of my new album sounds like evil *Nsync, & “Superhero” unquestionably falls into that category, despite being the lightest, happiest tune on the record. I love Swedish pop, I wanted to make something that sounded like the late 90’s, early 00’s songs I used to love so much. Like it is already in an arena.”
