From my understanding, Ricky is attempting to recapture the same energy as Juvenile’s music video for “Ha” visual. Well, that first behind-the-scenes clip did absolutely nothing to convince me of that aspiration. We’ll see in a few days. Props to Vibe.

Without further ado, Rilgood has just dropped off his sophomore effort today through mixtape form entitled Great Expectations. Just as the title suggests, the project was mapped out with a balance of progressive and lyrical content that was overseen by his mentor Dot Da Genius at his Brooklyn-based studio, The Brewery. Most of the production duties were helmed exclusively by rising beat makers Woodro Skillson and RC Bankwell. See if the project fulfills your “great expectations.”

The spitkicker will release her new project, Like The Gun, some time in the fall. Until then, however, she walks us through a Wahoo’s (or whatever is their equivalent in Texas) for this quickstrike verse over Keef’s cut.

Los Angeles denizens of the dopehouse: Shawn Chrys will be celebrating the release of his new project lovestory. on July 26th, and he has linked up with the dopehouse to giving one lucky fan a chance to win a pair of passes, as well as an autographed copy of the new project (executively produced by Timbaland), to catch the entire thing for the low price of $Free.99. How do you enter to win? Simple:
* Simply search out Shawn Chrys’ #ConversationsWithShawn hashtag on the site
* Enter your full, real name and legit email in the c-section down below where applicable (not in the comment itself, unless you want some random spam bot flooding your inbox for the next 50-11 years), with one of the #ConversationsWithShawn entries you find
and I’ll pick one person out of the mix who has done so as the winner. It’s not that hard, right?
If you don’t win the contest, you can still grab tickets here. Los Angeles residents/those who actually plan on being in Los Angeles the time of the event enter only. Good luck.

I watched both of those cartoons on Netflix a few weeks ago, too.
Dallas lends his own brain matter to the DR x Roc Marci collaboration from their Sit Down, Man project.
While we all probably hope it’d be reminiscent of his glorious “P-Poppin’” video, it will likely resemble a faux The Hangover-meets-Project X-type of clip. Coming shortly to a WiFi connection near you.

Concise Kilgore is from Utah (yeah, there’s apparently more to Utah than John Stockton and Big Love), and this track featuring Bam Bam will be on his upcoming September release Kobain.
You can grab this via iTunes, if you’d like.

I’m not a fan of just doing drops of cover art for singles, and I’m a bit wary of this cut because the last time Jay and Dre linked up… well… “Under Pressure” happened. We’ll all hear the end result sooner than later, though. Props to XXL.

One of my current favorite R&B cuts gets its visual treatment. Of course, I’m sure most of youse are only watching this for Brittany Dailey, and ain’t nothing wrong with that.
