Drake On Dealing w/ Critics (Video)

During the Houston stop of The Club Paradise Tour, Drake sat down with MTV to reveal advice he received from Floyd Mayweather on how to deal with criticism.

“There will be days when I walk in an arena & people will cheer & then there might be days when I walk in an arena & people might boo, yet it all sounds the same to me because it’s all just noise that lets me know that I’m relevant,” Drake said, sharing some words of wisdom that was given to him by boxing champ Floyd Mayweather.

“I don’t obtain booed,” Drizzy continued. “I don’t face that. I mean he faces that challenge yet my challenge is more with social media & open opinions & people just feeling like they need to talk.”

My thoughts exactly. It doesn’t matter who you are in this business (or any other business for that matter), the saying will always remain true… Hates Gon’ Hate.

Rapper Big Pooh: Pay It Forward

Interview by Andreas Hale. Shot/edited by Shake.

Another artist yours truly and TheWellVersed chopped it up with at SXSW was the huge homie Pooh. And during our discussion he talks approximately going from hip hop rookie to OG, working with up-and-coming artists (mainly Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul & Jay Rock a few years back) & his thoughts of maybe becoming an A&R for a record label once his career winds down.

I met Jay Rock first back in the Myspace days. (TDE President) Dave Free hit me up & wanted me & Phonte to do something back when Jay Rock was on Warner Records,” Pooh reflects. Although he had no idea who Jay Rock was, he did his research & learned that the TDE crew were fans of Little Brother. On a visit to California, Pooh & Big Dho decided to pay a visit to their studio. “That’s when I was first introduced to Ab-Soul & Kendrick Lamar. ScHoolBoy wasn’t part of the group yet. They just let me hear their music.”
He became a fan of what Ab Soul, Kendrick Lamar (then known as K Dot) & Jay Rock were cooking well before the internet had any idea who they were. Knowing that working with them could assist them be exposed to more people, he decided that a collaboration was in order.

“I ended up sending them a beat that Young RJ didn’t want to use anymore. I wanted Ab-Soul on it. Dave Free sent it back & said ‘I hope you don’t mind yet everybody jumped on this’ & Kendrick stole the show.” The relationship was established. Many were introduced to Kendrick Lamar thanks to the Rapper Big Pooh collaboration “Thanksgiving” & were thankful that they listened — even if it was solely based off of the fact that Pooh was on the song. Since then, Big Pooh has continued to work with the TDE tandem.

Drake – Yamaha Mama Lyrics

[Drake]
Listen girl, you so offensive & you single
What’s this I hear, we aint met yet
My name Drake & I’ma take the world over, this my year
This I swear, had my share of women that I been with
I’m young, can you blame me
I know you feel like a lot of things off limits
At least let me describe what it can be
Be faithful, I do that, not really baby girl
I’ll do that
Cause everybody break up when the cake up
We can be the couple that’ll never go through that
Yeah & if we’re ever falling off
I swear I’ll remind you that we’re not who they are
Now all I really gotta do is find you
Where you at?

[Chris Brown - Chorus]
From the east to the west, scream for me if your my number one lady
Take a lead in the race you can go swift speed it up for me baby
I’ma a G, whats next? One night with me would drive you crazy (crazy)
One night with me would drive you crazy.
Starters are you ready, take your marks & obtain steady
You know that its approximately to obtain heavy
Cause shes a rider (a rider)
My Yamaha mama x4
Aye aye

[Drake - Verse 2]
Tell me how I locate you
I know satellites are a breakthrough
But they don’t really lead me straight to
And I gotta arrive ‘fore somebody take you
Know there’s someone you don’t mean a lot to
And you would hate to know that I received you
I even received a speech in my head that write
and recite at the moment I spot you
Hey there, your name is?
I like that, it suits ya
I’m young yet I’m different
I’m not what your used to at all
If we stop at the same red light
I’ma celebrate the fact that I found you girl
And I’ma ride for ya too as shortly as it turn green
Wanna hear from all my ladies from around the world
Where you at?

[Chris Brown - Chorus]

Let me know what you think of the Drake Yamaha Mama Lyrics?
