After pursuing an interview with Roc for almost 2 years, we finally received the chance to speak with him, during his recent visit back to his hometown of NY. We captured quite a bit of absorbing convo with Roc approximately his neighborhood upbringing, his music career, writing process, his love for the old NY & much more. This interview was so extensive that I actually had to split it into 2 parts. In this first part, Roc speaks more in detail approximately his creative writing approach & how growing up in NY helped to shape his sound.
