The Spliff Star Awards: The (2)Dope Weed Carrier’s Year-End List

While we shared our official lists yesterday, Mek & I thought it would be a satisfactory idea to donate a little insight into what our weekend weed carriers listen to during their time off. So without further ado, the Spliff Star Awards!

Justice Equality Supreme…

I’ll be honest: despite bringing Justice (formerly known as KNOWxONE) into the fold two years ago, I still have no idea what he looks like, where he lives exactly or how old he is. Hell, for a minute I wasn’t even sure if it was a “he” at all. Regardless, the dopehouse’s resident crate-digger (who moreover is a part of the clothing company FITTED) provides his top picks. – Meka

Miss Peas…

The lone female of the (2)dope crew, Peas is a cocaine rap-loving, In-N-Out burger-eating, unassuming type that will recite the lyrics to “Give Up the Goods (Just Step)” while shitting on Tony Romo in the same breath. Here are her choices. – M

T.I. – F*ck Da City Up [Discussion]

With Tip’s new tape set to impact the net at 12AM EST, I figured we could obtain a discussion going on. Based off the trailers, what do y’all expect from it? I personally can’t wait to hear the title track & that ish with Dre. Both sounded nuts..

A$AP Rocky Premieres New Track In Miami (Video)

On Thursday December 29th, A$AP Rocky headlined his first concert in Miami at Grand Central, brought to you by WRLD Ent. From the minute the Harlem emcee touched the stage the crowd was full of energy, reciting songs off his critically acclaimed mixtape LIVE.LOVE.A$AP. word for word. Accompanied by his A$AP Mob, it was pretty clear that they have established a solid fan base in South Florida to which even I was surprised. Getting such a tremendous response, A$AP Rocky decided to premiere a new track he recorded in Miami towards the end of his performance. I’m not sure 100% what the track was titled yet I can say that it was indeed dope. You’d probably be able to agree more if the bass wasn’t so loud yet hey, it’s a concert. Rocky ended the show with a performance of fan favorite “Peso” & probably his third or fourth stage dive of the night. From Harlem to Miami, A$AP Rocky proved he’s a force to be reckoned with & he’s not stopping any time soon. – Ashley

You really can’t “hear” the new track (there’s way too much bass in the video), yet it’s the energy of “Peso” I wanted to showcase. I played the song at my gig last night in Manhattan & it damn near caused a riot.

You can catch another view of that show down bottom, courtesy of 93trilinfinity

Elite – Dreamer

I may not have included Elite’s Awaken in my Year End List yet that isn’t because the music isn’t dope. It’s just that I didn’t obtain enough time to sit down with it. And unlike most sites/magazines… politics & relationships don’t override our opinions. With that said, here goes an unreleased cut that didn’t make the final cut for the project.
